Your engraving on the back of this small circle can include up to 3 lines of text with 11, 13 and 11 characters (including spaces) on each line respectively. I do not use dog collars. This dog tag is on the walking harness and is a nice small size for my Jack Russell. I moved it from the metal D rings on the harness to a plastic clasp as the dog tag clinked as she walked, and if she shook herself it sounded like she was playing the castanets.
