Dogs Trust Honours 2012 Winners
The UK’s most heroic canines rubbed shoulders and paws with dog loving celebrities as the winners of the 2012 Dogs Trust Honours were revealed at London’s Honourable Artillery Company.
Over 30 dogs and 200 humans celebrated the fifth Dogs Trust Honours – the awards ceremony which celebrates the unique relationship between man and dog. Over 300 nominations were received from across the country for all five of the award categories, giving celebrity judges Deborah Meaden, Eamonn Holmes, Ruth Langsford, Richard Caring, Paul Ross, Dawn Porter and Ben De Lisi the difficult task of selecting the winners.
The five winners – four canine and one human - were presented with their awards by celebrity dogs lovers and treated to an evening of doggy bliss which included canine butlers and a doggy play zone. Guests included John Barrowman, Meg Matthews, Matthew Wright and dog Wiggy, Kaye Adams, Brix Smith-Start, Made in Chelsea stars Funda Onal, Rosie Marcel and Camilla Sacre Dallerup and Kevin Sacre with dog Sven.
The winners are:
Hero Service Dog - Aman – a police dog who continued to assist colleagues in the restraint of an armed man despite receiving multiple stab wounds and losing a lot of blood.
