The D for Dog 'Twas the night before Christmas' competition was judged by the lovely Allen Parton (of Allen and Endal fame). Allen is the co-author of the best selling book “Endal”, the true story of the medal-winning “Dog of the Millennium” and his loyal service to his disabled Gulf War veteran owner.

Thank you very much to Allen for being our judge and for gifting a signed copy of his best selling book 'Endal'.

:flower:

So let’s announce the winner, beginning with a message from Allen:

A truly wonderful selection of entries this year but the one that appealed most to me was kate57's entry. All the dogs mentioned though are winners as well having such caring and loving owners.

by kate57

T'was the night before Christmas
And all were asleep
Not a sound could be heard
Not even a peep

But Rosie lay listening
Her eyes open wide
She was hoping that Santa
Would soon step inside

She’d been told when a pup
By her dear old Mum
Of the special night
When Santa would come

In the still of the night
There came a soft sound
Someone was walking
Through the snowy ground

A figure entered all furry white
And tiptoed on his paws
Red hat and shiny nose
It was Santa claws

He put a present near the tree
Placing it with care
Rosie’s little tail wagged
To see it sitting there

Then in the blink of a doggies eye
He vanished from all sight
T'was the night before Christmas
A very magical night

Congratulations to our winner, kate57 :party-smiley-031:

And Allen picked this entry as runner up.
